Position Oral Health Project Manager, Part-time Organizational Information The Children?s Alliance of New Hampshire has a 25 year history as an independent advocacy organization committed to improving the lives of New Hampshire children and families by shaping statewide public policy. We recognize that oral health is a crucial component of the overall health of children therefore we are working to increase access to oral health services in the Granite State. Of particular concern to the Children?s Alliance is the inability of many communities and regions to attract and retain oral health professionals due to the rural complexion of our state. In 2011, the Children?s Alliance joined a Pew Trusts initiative to improve access to oral health by expanding the state?s workforce. Scope of Position The part-time oral health workforce project consultant reports to the Children?s Alliance Policy Director. The consultant is responsible for recruiting partners and coordinating the activities of the newly established Dental Health Access Alliance, providing support and training to partner organizations, and overseeing meetings and other activities. In addition, the Manager will support legislative, advocacy and administrative work for this project. The Manager will work closely with the oral health workforce project leadership team, the Policy Director and other Children?s Alliance staff as appropriate.The Project Manager works with minimal day to day supervision. Therefore, the Manager must be able to function independently, prioritize tasks and jump into many situations with skill. The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter who is personable, creative, and flexible, has a history and passion for community outreach and public policy, strong communications skills, and a willingness to work for change in a challenging economic environment.This is part-time consulting work that does not have benefits.
